This is the University of Vienna's website for the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court.

The participation of the team of the University of Vienna is organised by the Section for Public International Law and International Relations. An intensive course, which lasts for two semesters, aims at preparing a team of students to participate in the European Regional Rounds. The topics of this international competition are public international law and space law.

Students enrolled at the University of Vienna as well as exchange students who are staying for an entire academic year are encouraged to apply! The team will consist of three students (see Selection Process)

The World Finals take place at the margins of the annual International Astronautical Congress (IAC). Three acting judges of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will form the jury.

Regional Rounds take place in five world regions: Europe, North Amerika, Latin America, Africa and Asia. The European Rounds are organised by the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL). They will be held at a University in Europe, generally in April of each year. The locations of the European Regional Rounds are usually announced at the beginning of each year.

During the winter semester, the written memorials of the applicant and the respondent will be prepared. The summer semester will be dedicated to the preparation and training of the oral pleadings. The language of the competition and of the preparatory course is English.
